Asalamu Alaykum (Peace be upon you)! My name is Faduma Warsame and I am a senior student studying English and minoring in Teaching English as a Second Language at the University of Minnesota. I have a major passion for writing, reading, and activism withing my community. I have always loved volunteering and am up for anything and everything related to stimulating the betterment of my community. I have volunteered at several different organizations, but have held long-term roles at/within Muslim Students Association at UMN, Building Blocks, Al-Farooq Youth and Family Center, and Qabeelat Madinatayn. My role at each and every one of these groups has helped me develop leadership skills to last a life-time and has helped me increase my knowledge, both secular and islamic. For example, I currently serve as the Youth Coordinator for Building Blocks of Islam and oversee different committees that organize weekly, monthly, and yearly youth events. For this reason, I believe attending Bayyinah Quran Intensive serves as another way of giving back to my community. I have been on the path to memorizing the Qur'an for quite some time at Al-Jazari Institute at AFYFC, and believe it is equally important to have a sound understanding of not only the meaning of the Qur'an, but the language as well. By attending Qur'an Intensive I hope to begin a start to the other 2/3 of the Qur'an. I hope to benefit myself as well as others, 

and encourage and inspire my siblings and other sisters who feel like it's difficult to seek Islamic knowledge in the West. May Allah reward you for every penny you spend in helping me reach this dream. (Ameen)
