Offset The Cost of Lymphedema Compression Items.

Hi there, I'm Steve! Thanks for visiting my Gofundme page. I've never been comfortable asking for help I'm usually the one striving to be the help. But my friends and family have made a convincing plea and here I am sharing my story.

At 8 years old I was diagnosed with a condition called Lymphedema or to be exact (Chronic Idiopathic Primary Lymphedema). This condition causes extreme swelling in my legs and can only be controlled by constant compression and regular treatment. Now in my mid-40s, this swelling involves both of my legs up to the hip and possibly even my abdomen. Currently, there is no cure or adequate surgical intervention.

The compression garments I require for both regular treatment and maintaining an active lifestyle are incredibly expensive. The custom-made compression stockings I would wear daily cost over $900.00 a pair. Medicare does not currently cover these items, but laws have been passed that should correct this issue next year.
