Help Offset TBI Medical Costs for Ellisa Kobylak
Five years ago, on January 16, 2014, I fell in a parking lot and hit my head on the concrete. What seemed like a simple fall resulting in a headache quickly turned into years of daily pain, cognitive delays, tests, treatments, and medications to follow. I have seen countless doctors and specialists, visited many different types of physical therapists, received more shots and injections than I care to remember, and still, the diagnoses keep coming.
Through all of this, we have exhausted our savings account. I do not qualify for social security as I have not "paid into the system" enough by choosing to stay home with my boys. Additionally, a claim filed to the insurance company from the location where I fell was denied as well because too much time had passed between the injury date and the filing date.
In early May this year, I was recently diagnosed with hearing loss due to very small broken bones in my right ear that will require very specific and expensive hearing aids. ($2,500-3,000) This was probably due to the original fall, but cannot be linked to it because several issues can cause this situation.
Also, I have been under treatment by a fantastic neurological pain management anesthesiologist. I have since been referred to his partner for the placement of peripheral neurostimulator. This process requires multiple days of surgery that will result in high copays for doctor appointments, operating rooms, anesthesiology, recovery and more. ($4,000-$6,000) 
We know that so many people have needs in their lives. It humbles us to ask for help; it's not easy for us at all. If you cannot financially give, we fully understand.
