I'm Ted Herring - our wonderful granddaughter Avery has a very rare disease called Frederich's Ataxia. It is a genetic, progressive neuromuscular disease.

People with FA experience issues with balance and coordination of movement that lead to life-altering loss of mobility. FA is life-shortening and affects an estimated 5,000 individuals in the United States and 15,000 worldwide.

Avery's dad Nick is our middle son. Nick has a birthday coming up on June 16th, and when I recently asked him what he wants for his birthday he said what would make him happiest would be to give Avery a Kid's Rig electric off-road wheelchair. Nothing about himself or his wants, just a great gift for Avery!

The chair is $1499 but they charge $500 for shipping. Please donate what you can so Avery can enjoy using it. She already has a regular kid's wheelchair, and a walker she uses at school to get around. Maureen and I will start this one out with a $200 donation ourselves.
