Gadsden County Sherriff Office Deputy and Army Specialist 4 (Charlie Troop, 1/153 Calvary, 53rd IBCT) Max Sander was critically injured on May 27 in a vehicle versus motorcycle collision where his right-of- way was violated.   His mother, Maureen Sander, is a Nurse Practitioner who has served the Tallahassee community for 15 years and a recent widow as Max's father passed away earlier this year.  She says, "Maximilian Sander is my son, a deputy with Gadsden County SO, a volunteer with the Florida National Guard- veteran in support of operations in Africa and as you all have heard a victim of a motorcycle accident this week that may leave him in need of long term rehabilitation. Max is nothing if not a giver- I knew that- and now having met the many people he touched and listening to their stories I know you know that too."

Max has a very long and challenging medical and rehabilitation journey ahead of him.  He is a hero who has touches the lives of many people while serving in the military, as a Gretna police officer and GCSO Deputy.  We believe in him, his strength and God's blessings.
