Officer Steve Jahns passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2018. At the time of his passing, Steve was employed with the Fairborn Police Department in Ohio where he had served since October 2, 1995.
During his time as a police officer, Steve served in the patrol division and also served many years as a detective. In addition to his public service, Steve served several terms on the executive board of Fraternal Order of Police New City Lodge #48. Steve was a caring soul who put his heart into his work. He was a dependable friend who could always be counted on.
Steve was engaged to be married and has two children. Steve's son is a veteran of the United States Army and is currently enrolled in a local fire academy. His daughter is currently a student at The Ohio State University. Steve was very proud of his children and spoke of them often.
The financial hardship of his passing has created an extreme burden for Steve's children. We are seeking donations for the family in order to help offset the cost of funeral expenses. These donations are needed as soon as possible due to the untimeliness of his passing.
