My brother in blue and Marine Corp Veteran Luke Lyons recently received the greatest gift of his life, followed by the worst news of his life. Luke was recently hired by the Picatinny Police Department and unfortunately had to miss the birth of his daughter while attending the police academy.  When Luke completed the academy, he flew back home and immediately went to the doctor due to many medical complications he had while attending the academy. After many tests, his greatest fears came true, Luke was diagnosed with cancer. At only 26 years old with a new-born daughter, Luke was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a cancer in the infection-fighting cells of the immune system. After receiving this news, Luke remained the positive and optimistic he has always been and is determined to push through the diagnosis and come out on top.

He and his family have a long and tough road ahead as he will be traveling weekly to receive the best treatment possible to beat this cancer. His wife is currently on the tail end of her maternity leave and Luke has had difficultly returning to work due to the effects of the treatment. Donations will go directly to the family to help offset the high medical costs.

Every donation no matter what amount is extremely appreciated. Luke is an amazing husband, father, son, and friend to all. Luke is one of the most self-less people I know. Luke has shown on multiple occasions that he would do anything to help a friend or stranger in need without thinking about it twice. Luke showed me this site about a year or so ago as he was donating to multiple causes, trying to prove to me that there are many good people in this world. So today this officer is asking for backup to help out my brother in blue.
