******UPDATE****** Due to requests from the community to support Officer Matt Miller as well as an increase in the initial projected expenses for Matt and his family the goal amount for this go fund me has been increased to $25,000.
Officer Matt Miller of the Chewelah Police Department was involved in a 2 vehicle collision on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 while on duty. Matt’s vehicle was struck head on at a high rate of speed by another vehicle that lost control on Hwy 395. Matt had to be flown by a Life Flight helicopter to a Spokane hospital and has had to undergo several surgeries so far for his traumatic injuries. Matt’s police dog Rebel was also in the vehicle when it was struck and he suffered minor injuries requiring stitches. Rebel is doing well and is being boarded at a local kennel while he waits for his handler Matt to recover so that he can come home. This Go Fund Me account has been set up to assist Matt and his family with any unforeseen expenses during his projected long recovery period.
