On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Meridian Police Officer Kennis Croom was killed in the line of duty while responding to a domestic disturbance call. Once on the scene, Officer Croom was able to ensure the victim’s 4 children were out of harm’s way prior to him being gunned down. His heroic efforts saved the children's lives. He gave the gift of life to 75 other people through organ and tissue donation.

Kenzie is the youngest daughter of Officer Croom. She has attended Kaleidoscope of Learning since she was 8 weeks old. Officer Croom actively participated in our school’s fundraisers and activities. Kenzie was crowned Miss Kaleidoscope after raising the most money in our school’s fundraiser. Officer Croom has made the ultimate sacrifice and always went above and beyond the call of duty.
