Officer Gary Rupert

Donation protected
On March 8th, retired Pittsburgh Police officer Gary Rupert passed away suddenly.  This news has been heartbreaking and has shattered the lives of his wife, Erin, and their four children. Gary worked as a police officer for 23+ years in Pittsburgh and Ohio, where even after suffering a traumatic brain injury, Gary returned to his life of service on the force, protecting the community and providing for his family.  Gary never missed an opportunity to take extra details and work long hours to provide the best life he could for his family.  Post-retirement, he took a job as the police chief at a local community college.  Due to restructuring, he lost that job, but didn't let that discourage him.  He landed another opportunity in business development, but due to Covid-19, the company temporarily reduced their operations.

His family is left reeling with the pain of not being able to say goodbye or share one more moment with Gary.  On top of her grief, Erin is trying to cover the financial burden of the funeral expenses and caring for her family without Gary.  Erin and Gary’s primary concern has always been their family’s well being and children's future.  To that end, this account was set up to help Erin continue Gary's vision of securing their children's educational future. Any amount you can contribute would be so greatly appreciated. Gary was the first to step up and help others, so we want to pay his kindness forward.
