My dear friend, Liz needs financial assistance. Below is her story in her own words.

"My name is Liz Ferris, and I would like to share the story of my father, Bob Ferris. He has been involved with Scientology for over 40 years, beginning his journey there in his late 20s. Unfortunately, he has not communicated with his family for the past 20 years due to the church's directive for him to disconnect from me because of my sexual orientation.

I was led to believe that he passed away in 2004, but I later found out that there was no grave and I received no assistance in verifying his status. Growing up in this environment, I was unaware of the lengths to which the organization would go to maintain his loyalty. Throughout these years, my father has served as a leader in electronics repair within the organization.

Approximately 1.5 years ago, he attempted to escape, but unfortunately, without knowledge of his family’s whereabouts, he was returned to the organization. He is currently held at the Hemet base. I have recently consulted with an attorney who is willing to take on his case. At 73 years old, it is time for him to be reunited with his family.

As we work towards securing his freedom and challenge the policies of Scientology, I am reaching out for assistance in this mission. My father is a veteran of the Air Force and a kind-hearted individual. I would greatly appreciate any support in our effort to liberate him from this organization.

In order to take this next step, I need to be healthy. Recently, I was admitted to the hospital with pulmonary embolisms in both lungs, for 10 days. As I am out of the hospital, I am still working through the health repercussions of this diagnosis. The testing and medical costs to pinpoint the origin of the blood clots, and my extremely elevated liver enzyme levels, have become a financial burden that my family cannot currently take on. As I am unable to work, and insurance is not covering a majority of my needs, I am asking for your help.

The Go Fund Me is set at what my medical needs are right now and will be updated if the goal is met. We then can turn the focus to helping my dad.
