It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffery Hand on the early morning of January 12th, surrounded by family and loved ones. Jeff had been suffering from a complexity of health issues, including diabetes, and cirrhosis of the liver, resulting in liver failure.
Through the past several months, Jeff has required many emergency room visits, hospital stays, and other necessary medical care, as we have tried to navigate and manage his treatment and care. We had high hopes for a liver transplant, despite knowing it would be a long and extensive recovery. Unfortunately, the transplant was no longer an option given his unstable, and quickly progressing state. This has been an emotional roller coaster for the family over recent days as treatment options quickly became unavailable. Jeff, with his wife and best friend, Abby, made the decision for Jeff to go home on hospice. Where he was able to pass peacefully surrounded by family and friends, telling all the wonderful memories and stories so many shared with Jeff.
Jeff worked hard to support his family, and was the main financial provider. Any and all financial support you are able to kindly donate to the family is incredibly appreciated, and will help pay for funeral expenses for Jeff, remaining bills, and help alleviate living expenses during this difficult time for his wife, Abby.
