Off set costs

Hi! My name is Krista and I’m from Gillam, MB. I am fundraising to be with my husband while he receives treatment in Winnipeg. Darin has kidney disease and is in renal failure. He receives daily dialysis. Darin underwent bypass surgery in May. He was slowly recovering and looking forward to having cataract surgery so he could return to work and normal day activities. Darin was medivacced from Gillam August 23 to Thompson and then onto Winnipeg on the 24th. It is unclear why his health has deteriorated so quickly. Darin is undergoing numerous tests and scans. He currently is unable to communicate his needs and past medical history to medical staff. I am seeking financial assistance to offset accommodation costs so I can be with him. We have both been hit with medical issue after medical issue in the last two years. And it has taken a toll on us financially. As Darin is on disability, we do not have any work benefits to help cover medical expenses. It’s is difficult for us to ask for help. It is unclear how long we will be in Winnipeg. I am supposed to be returning to teaching in September. This is also unclear if I can do so as Darin may need care when he returns home.

Darin is always there to lend a helping hand. He has a wicked sense of humour. He is a sled head and is into anything with a motor. Darin loves our 18 year old son to the moon and back again. They have long discussions about anything and everything. Our puppers Cooper is also his bestest of friends. They enjoy a good snuggle and a fried egg every morning.
