The Colina Middle School "Magical Minds" team is going to the ODYSSEY OF THE MIND WORLD FINALS at Michigan State!!! We need some magic from you to help us get there!
Team "MAGICAL MINDS"
Ever since 3rd grade, our team has dreamed of going to State. After years of hard work and dedication, that dream came true when we came in 1st place at the Regional Tournament. On March 23, we placed 2nd place at the State competition, advancing us to the WORLD FINALS! We are ready to take on WORLD! But is the world ready for us? Not without your help!
What is Odyssey of the Mind?
Odyssey of the Mind (OotM) is a volunteer-run, STEM-type competition that requires teams to use creativity, intellect, and teamwork to solve a unique problem with no outside assistance. Team "Magical Minds" has been working on our problem “Omer to the Rescue, Again” since September. We were required to build a vehicle, make costumes and props, create and write a story, and present it all in a skit- on a $150 budget. When we go to the OotM World Finals from May 22-25 in Lansing, MI, there will be an estimated 800 teams from 25 countries competing. WOW!
How You Can Help?
In order to attend the World Finals at Michigan State, we need to raise approximately $10,000 to get our 6 member team and INSPIRING coach to Lansing, MI. Your generous donation will be used to pay for tournament fees, travel expenses, accommodation and meals, and shipping costs for our vehicle, props, and costumes so we can proudly represent Colina Middle School.
We greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide to help our team get to Michigan for the World Finals.
