Odyssey of the Mind La Joya
Donation protected
Odyssey of the Mind is an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment. Participants build self-confidence, develop life skills, create new friendships, and are able to recognize and explore their true potential.
La Joya's Odyssey of the Mind team won first place at the state competition and needs your help getting to the World Finals May 22 in Ames, Iowa. These creative students used their artistic and engineering abilities to create props and costumes out of recycled books and materials, as well as a spectacular skit that blew the judges away.
The team of seven 12-and-13-year-olds need your help to raise money to travel to Iowa, reside in dorms for the week of competition, and ship their props. The cost is about $1500 per student, but the experiences they will have is worth every cent. We are truly grateful for any donation and we thank you for your contribution.
Help Aubrey Brown, Brooklyn Burch, Riley Chism, Eavan Ford, Jaylee Fierro, Kevin Jolly, and Paige Knudsen get to World Finals!
