Katey has been an elementary school art teacher for over 25 years. She is genuine, kind, and a great listener. Mark is retired due to medical disability. He has the best stories, can connect with anyone he interacts with, and wants to help others any way he can. Michael is 22 years old. He moved back home to help care for his father. Michael is a hard worker and described as funny, loving, and loyal.
Sadly, Katey, Mark, and Michael's apartment was a part of a building fire October 31st, 2018, through no fault of their own. They are each safe, but unfortunately they have lost all their belongings as well as their home.
They watched everything they own go up in flames and anything they had left has major water damage and they aren't allowed back in the building to retrieve anything because it is structurally unsound. They are needing to replace everything from beds and other furniture, to clothes and personal items.
We are hoping to raise five thousand dollars to get them started on replacing these items. They are in the process of finding a new place to live and will need some items, especially beds, as soon as possible.
We appreciate the help that they have already received with meals, lodging, and toiletries. If you are local and cannot donate funds but have furniture and other house hold items those kinds of donations are welcomed and greatly appreciated as well.
