#Odette Palawan Relief

On December 16 and 17., 2021, the beautiful islands of the Philippines was ravaged by the strongest typhoon this year. It left many people without homes, food, and water. Connection has been cut off from areas affected; roads and bridges damaged and not accessible. Families haven’t heard from their loved ones. Silence is our biggest enemy at this time, as we do not know the fate of the those in certain areas but continue to receive feedback of the extensive damage that has occurred from the typhoon bit by bit online.
Although communities are gathering together to form relief efforts for various parts of the islands effected, time is of the essence as it's been days we have not heard from our friends in the areas most devastated by the typhoon. All we know from sources who have managed to contact us is they have run out of clean drinking water, food, and some do not have shelter at this moment.
I extend my hand for help from friends abroad. If we have spoken about my travels throughout the Philippines in the last 6 years or if I've helped you plan a trip to visit this beautiful country, you know how much this place means to me. If you’ve had the pleasure of experiencing the wonderful people and filipino culture during your travels in this country, I’m sure you feel the same as I do. But now, they need our help!
I know this is a particular hard time, especially with Covid still looming, but if you could spare even the smallest amount: the price of a coffee at home feeds a family in the Philippines. It would mean a lot to those affected if you could help during this time.
Full transparency: We have set up the gofundme page as a means for our international friends to donate as we can only use GCash + bank accounts in the Philippines to process funds at this time.
The donations will go to #OdettePalawanRelief in Palawan, which will use the funds to purchase water, food, and utilities needed to distribute to the local communities.
The funds are deposited in my bank account due to it being CAD dollars and internationally transfer to OdettePalawanRelief BPI account in PH pesos.
