Ocular Prosthesis for Demetrius
Donation protected
My fiance, Demetrius was diagnosed with retinoblastoma in 2017.
Retinoblastoma is an eye cancer that affects infants and children. It is very rare and aggressive in adults. Since 2017 Demetrius has undergone several different types of chemotherapy in his left eye.
In April 2024 the original tumor grew back along with a new tumor from a vitreous seed.
Demetrius has made the difficult decision to remove his left eye. He has a long recovery infront of him, not just physically but also mentally.
Retinoblastoma survivors find a better quality of life with an ocular prosthesis. I would greatly appreciate your help in providing an ocular prosthesis for Demetrius. He is out of work while recovering and insurance does not fully cover the cost of the prosthesis.
**Any donations over the goal amount will be donated to the Eye Tumor Research Foundation, https://www.etrf.org/
