Help Guerrero Family Recover from House Fire
Donation protected
Hey Everyone,
We are fundraising to help our friend and coworker Octavio “Oak” Guerrero.
On February 9th, 2023 while shopping for groceries with his son, Oak received a call from his girlfriend, “there’s been a fire”. Leaving the cart in the middle of the aisle Oak grabbed his son's hand and rushed home.
A fire had broke out in the family's bathroom. Luckily, the fire didn’t have enough oxygen limiting the damage mainly to one room.
Oak and his family are without their own housing currently. In addition to being houseless, several of the family’s belongings have been damaged due to flames and soot.
Oak is a personal trainer and coach. He is one of the hardest working people I know waking up before the sun to drive 45 minutes into San Luis Obispo to help individuals become stronger and more resilient. His girlfriend and partner Courtney is a brilliant botanist and works remotely for the Smithsonian Institution as a data analyst.
Where the family is now increases Oak’s commute, doesn’t allow Courtney to have a workspace or a place for the kids to play. Without proper housing, these two cannot work and raise their two children easily.
Even with all this going on Oak and Courtney remain strong. Most of all, they are thankful that they, their children, and animals are safe.
I am hoping we can raise the necessary funds for housing, clothing, and food for this family in need.
Please consider donating. Every little bit helps. Thank you.
