Circumnavigating Britain in an ocean rowing boat is an adventure that is close to home, but promises some of the busiest and most treacherous waters to be found on the planet - as well as some of the most spectacular scenes and shorelines. The huge swells and monotony of an open ocean crossing are replaced with the breaking waves, whirlpools, and rocks offered by the coast. Alongside traversing the busiest shipping lane in the world, these aspects make rowing around Britain a unique navigational challenge that tests even the most experienced of seafarers.

This summer, we will row below Tower Bridge and down the Thames as we set off on our expedition - spending between 60 - 80 days out at sea and stopping only to eat, sleep, and shelter from any storms. We will not be stepping back on dry land until we row back up the Thames having circumnavigated Britain and gained a "boats-eye view" of the British mainland.

Our ambition is to release a weekly podcast, documenting the journey and interviewing some of the incredible people who work on coastal causes around the country. From seagrass to lighthouses, fishing to whales, we want to paint a portrait of the environmental and social challenges facing our shore and, importantly, the people working to solve them.
