Ocean Acres - Urgent Animal Appeal

This is an urgent appeal for Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary. We are currently caring for 125 dogs and 60 cats at the former Hope Sanctuary in St John, Barbados. Although the number of animals go up and down, we are always above our actual occupancy capacity, and there are hundreds more waiting that need our help. We are determined to improve the situation of abuse and neglect of animals in Barbados.
We have NO FUNDING or benefactors and rely entirely on donations. Ocean Acres doesn't euthanize any dogs just because we are short of space or because they have been overlooked by adopters. We provide food, veterinary care, love, and our own time and money to save countless animal lives. We give these animals another chance after they’ve been let down, hurt, damaged and forgotten about by everyone else. Everyday we make sure that each dog gets love, attention, and exercise and each cat gets the love, care and freedom it needs.
Now, because of COVID-19, we have a national pet emergency in Barbados. So many people have lost jobs and are unable to care for their cats and dogs. Animals are starving. Animals are being dumped; left to die miserable and agonizing deaths. OAAS is doing everything possible to rescue and find homes for as many as we can. To do this we urgently need financial help.
I know it’s a tough time for everyone right now. I know jobs are up in the air, money may be tight, people are unsure about what’s going to happen next in their lives..... But if you can, PLEASE donate. Any amount you give will help to save a life. 100% of the funds received goes towards caring for the animals. We say 'YES' when others say 'no'. We will do everything in our power to make sure OAAS stays open and continues this essential work.
