Hello!

We're Leeds based duo ACCA Dance Theatre and we are SO EXCITED to share that we have been invited by Dance Base and Assembly to present our first full length comedy dance theatre show Occupational Hazard at the Edinburgh Fringe!

We will be doing a run of three shows from 2nd – 4th August, but we need your help to get us there!

To date, ACCA Dance Theatre is largely funded by Arts Council Project Grants to make our work, which we are not allowed to use for the Fringe.

So... how much is it going to cost us to get there?

minus Keep It Fringe Fund £2,500.00
= £3,500 left to raise!

We appreciate this is a lot of money, and we have tried to be transparent in how much we need to raise to make the shows happen. This is a massive opportunity for us to showcase our work on an international festival, meet programmers and reach new audiences. Fingers crossed we reach our fundraising target, and if we don't we'll be self funding from the pockets of Anna and Charlotte to make it happen, which we can't really afford to do.

We are thrilled to announce that we have received £2,500 from the Keep It Fringe Fund which massively helps us reach our target! We'll also be running a Fundraising Day on Saturday 13th July 2024 at LightSpace Leeds, but anything you can spare to help us get there is much appreciated.

About the show:

Fusing comedy, clowning and choreography, Occupational Hazard follows the day in the life of air hostesses Becky and Linda, ACCAirways’ creme de la creme on a low budget airline where casual sexism is normalised. Though at times tongue in cheek to entertain a plane full of passengers, the show delves deeper than the interplay between Becky and Linda, as they navigate consent and unsolicited touch as a female in the service industry, asking audience members to ride the waves of their individual emotional journeys.

Bolstered by their shared experience, Becky and Linda declare a feminist emergency by the end of the show, and although the flight is scheduled to travel nowhere, perhaps lands somewhere in the land of empowerment and action.
