Objective: Obtain a vehicle to reclaim a reliable source for transportation

Reported Events:

Sept 9th 2022-Initial vehicle (Lexus '98) was subject to a car crash that left it in a pretty gnarly shape. Although it's barely hanging on, it is not safe to drive.

Nov 7th 2022-In order to maintain a consistent presence at work, a bike was purchased.

However, in recent events, I and the bike were hit by a van leaving the bike unrideable and myself with traumatizing anxiety.

Road Blocks:

Repairing Lexus '98- I love my car, but to completely repair the cost is estimated at about $20,000 and it would take 1+ year to get back into shape.
Repairing bike/getting a new one- after the incident, riding a bike within the area is too dangerous. In addition, as the weather changes, it becomes costly to bike because I would have to use Lyft/Uber depending on weather conditions.
Getting a new car- Unfortunately, I do not have the finances to get a new car, nor the means to obtain a loan to do so.

Resolution: Purchase a used vehicle for about $5,000 by December 25, 2023.

Seek help to raise funds from friends, family, or anyone who can assist to achieve this goal
Have reliable transportation to travel to work, and obtain groceries (without added expenses for Lyft/Uber to avoid exposure to weather conditions, or delivery services for food/other items)

It has been gravely difficult not having a car to accomplish daily living tasks; Not only do I face changing weather conditions, and added expenses to travel short distances that eat up my budget, but also being vulnerable to even more dangerous events if I bike or walk just in a 5mile radius.
