Hi, my name is Annmarie and I am the Mother/Mother in law/Grandmother of the O'Brien family of Farmingdale who has been terribly affected by the unprecedented rain from September 29th. Gina and Joe O'Brien have 4 young children, one of which is 4 months old.

They are now without clothing/hot water/heat/proper electric/washer, dryer and more. The entire lower half of their home was under 7 feet of water. Everything was lost. Nothing was salvageable.

The insurance company is not covering any of the loss.

Joe is a NYC Fire Fighter and a member of the United States Army. The family is also the founders and owners of The Vice Coffee and Doughnut truck. If anyone knows them at all, they know that this is a family that gives of themselves on a daily basis and gives back to their community any chance at they get. Now they are the ones in need of help and assistance. We are asking for donations to help them recoup just some of their necessities that were lost and to help them get back on their feet. Let me add that this is a very proud family that would never ask for help. Gina home schools her children and has always had an open door policy for anyone in need of a hot meal or just a friend. Joe is one of the hardest working men I know. He helps anyone in need of any assistance at all at the drop of a dime, even given the full plate that he has at home being the father of 4 children and working 2 jobs. I am proud to call him my son in law and I know this tragedy and the helplessness he is feeling at this time is so very rough for him. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
