Obi's Last Wish: Return to Binghamton

Donation protected
I am a beloved sibling of a great man who was known across the United States, in many countries, and was born in a small city called Binghamton, New York. In his younger years, he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was well known for his gift of gab. He talked his way out of trouble, later developing into a great orator. Mock-trial state champion in high school, Michigan State University graduate, Georgetown law student, scholar, businessman, and entrepreneur.

Obi loved to travel the world and made business connections and friendships in many countries. Obi never stopped learning and also obtained skills in phlebotomy and certification as a Physician's Assistant. Needless to say, he only came back to Binghamton once in a while, but when he did, there was not a soul who was not glad to see him. One day, he started talking about having problems with his kidneys, and then he later found out that his kidneys were being severely damaged by Multiple Myeloma, a deadly blood cancer that affects the bone marrow, where blood cells are produced. Obi later underwent a grueling bone marrow transplant, multiple blood transfusions, chemotherapy, and received a constant flow of powerful medications until the cancer was brought into remission.

However, the treatments took a toll on his kidneys, requiring Obi to undergo dialysis to maintain his kidneys. Miraculously, his wife of decades ended up being his kidney donor match made in heaven. Wanting more freedom, Obi decided to utilize his option for home dialysis, where a dialysis machine is set up in the comfort of his home. At this point, Obi was living in Texas. We visited Obi this past Christmas, and he appeared to be doing great.

We kept in constant communication with Obi for several years up to the Saturday before his sudden death. His wife, for decades, found him deceased and alone, apparently as a result of a malfunction of the dialysis machine.

We have nothing left to do but mourn his death and honor his life!

We will need some financial assistance to transport his body from Texas to Binghamton and bring him home. Obi said he would arrive in Binghamton the week after his birthday. Obi's birthday was April 17th this year.
