It is with a broken heart that we let you know that Obbo Kajela (Qajela) Chali passed away, due to a sudden heart attack on Sunday, August 29, 2021, in Atlanta, Georgia.

The sudden death of Obbo Kajela is a devastating loss to his family, friends, and to our community at large. As he suddenly collapsed in front their eyes at home, the tragedy is particularly unbearable for his wife and his three children. The resuscitation attempt by his children and paramedics was in vain.

Ob. Kajela passed away leaving behind his wife Lelise Tamiru Amenu, and his three children, Ibsa, Kenna and Heran Kajela Chali.

Some of you have reached out and asked how you can help his family during this difficult time. Please know that your kindness, prayer, and encouragement is much appreciated as they navigate this heartbreaking moment. The family is shocked and saddened by this loss and unfortunately not financially prepared as this was unexpected. So, we kindly ask, if you can, to donate funds towards the funeral service.
