Oakley's CF Donate for a Cure

Tax deductible

On April 20th of this year we met our daughter Oakley Atlas. She has been an amazing addition to our family and the best little sister that Ainsley could have asked for. Two weeks after she was born we found out that Oakley had a genetic condition called Cystic Fibrosis. We were shocked and scared because we didn't know really anything about CF or what it would mean for her or our family's future. After the initial shock, we began to settle into a rhythm and have learned a lot more about the condition.

Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic condition that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. In order to delay the impact of CF there are a few actions we are taking today. Oakley takes enzymes before every feeding to help her digest food, along with a daily vitamin. Additionally, we conduct chest physical therapy for 20-30 minutes twice a day to help alleviate any potential lung damage from mucous build up that is common among people with CF.

There have been a ton of medical advancements to change the outlook for people with CF but there is currently no cure. For my birthday, I want to raise funds for the CF Foundation to hopefully find a cure for this disease and allow Oakley to lead a long and fulfilling life.

If you are interested in learning more about CF, the CF Foundation website, cff.org, is a great resource. The impact of CF can vary drastically person to person but we are hopeful that a cure can be found, and so we want to raise money to get us closer to that point.

Thanks for the support!
