Hi, I’m Kelly – proud mum to Bronte, who, as many of you know, attends Oakley Special Needs School. Bronte has a very rare genetic syndrome which has massively impacted all areas of her development. She has a profound learning disability, autism, ADHD and various sensory processing issues so as a result requires support in everything she does. Despite her struggles she is a very happy little lady and this is, in part, due to Oakley. She LOVES school and as her Mum I would really love to give something back to them.

On March the 8th I’m running the Paddock Wood Half Marathon alongside my lovely friend Claire, who is a teacher at Oakley. Between us, we share both a parent and teacher connection to this incredible school – and we see every day just how much it means to the children and families it supports.

Oakley’s Tonbridge site is fundraising for a brand new playground, designed specifically to meet the needs of their amazing pupils. This new space will provide:

- safe and accessible play equipment

- sensory-friendly areas

- opportunities for physical development

- a space where children can build confidence and independence.

For children with additional needs, the right environment makes all the difference. This playground won’t just be somewhere to play – it will be a place to grow, explore and thrive.
