Oakley Recruitment for Walsall Manor Neonatal

Watch us take on the Wolf Run and a skydive to raise money for Oakley Recruitment’s chosen charity of 2023; Walsall Manor Neonatal Unit

Here at Oakley Recruitment, Walsall Manor Neonatal Unit is a charity close to our hearts. They cared for our director, Hayley, and her boys when the boys were born prematurely. With Ethan born at 2lb 11oz and Jacob born at 3lb 3oz, they needed around-the-clock care to ensure their survival. Having had their baby, Hayley and her husband, Steve, had to trust the neonatal ward to protect their precious babies. Open 24 hours every day, Hayley could be at the babies’ bedsides at all hours, whenever she needed to be close to them. If she woke up in the middle of the night worried, she could head down and see that they were safe.

Hayley was lucky to have her support network but some women don’t have that, they don’t have the flexibility to be around their babies when they need it. Whether they have other children to look after or they have to get back to work, the neonatal unit can be a lifeline to families in such a difficult time. Premature babies can have severe health issues which can cause severe distress to their families. That is why we want to raise money and awareness for the Walsall Manor Neonatal Unit, to help all mothers going through what Hayley went through. Ethan and Jacob have both grown up into beautiful, healthy boys thanks to the care they received.

To raise money, Oakley Recruitment are doing fundraising activities throughout this year.

We are entering the Wolf Run as a team on 22nd April. Taking on 10km of thick mud and obstacles won’t be easy but we will be taking it on as a fun mix of team building and fundraising.

On the 16th September, Hayley will take the plunge and do a skydive, facing her fears in this thrilling challenge. We will all be heading down to the airfield to watch!
