Oakley needs major surgery - Muscular Cancer

Hey folks,

I've started this in support of Fernie local Ryan Maleta, who's 1yr old pup Oakley started to develop a growth on the side of his face recently, which led to a much more serious discovery - muscular cancer. Since Ryan is loyal to the bone, he's planning to fight this all the way and is currently making arrangements for emergency surgery at a Vet in Calgary. Anyone who's been through something similar with their own furry friend knows that vet bills get out of hand pretty quickly, so I'm just hoping to put together some funds to assist with the expenses. Huge thanks to anyone who can assist, any contribution helps.

Update 1 : Holy shnikey's batman!! Thank you SO MUCH to all of you! Oakley is heading to Calgary on Tuesday for pre-surgery scan and assessment, will keep everyone updated. This fundraising effort was a surprise for Ryan, and he's very, very grateful for the outpouring of support. When good friends need help, you help them. Cheers folks, you're all awesome humans!

Update 2: Ryan and Oakley are currently in Calgary, probably spooning on a heart-shaped hotel bed resting up for a big day tomorrow. Bloodwork and a CT scan to start, followed by surgery later in the day or on Thursday. Fingers crossed for good news, I’ll update again once any new info is available.
