Oakley & Anderson Blessing Fund (Spencer Family)

With the permission of Ashley and Mark, we wanted to share a few of the details on their story and what led to this GoFundMe. The purpose of this is not to shame anyone into giving but more-so to share the heartbreak so we can all know this money is going to help mend some of those wounds that are still very real today. As some may already know, last year, the Spencers in thinking they’d like to add one more blessing to the household found out they were pregnant with twins (Oakley and Anderson). What you may not know is that the pregnancy ended up being very difficult, physically and emotionally. Ashley was mostly bed-ridden throughout and could hardly even talk without feeling sick. But the babies endured as well as both parents. Then, they got the news that no parent ever wants to hear—the babies were gone. Tears were shed and prayers of hurt were sent heavenward. The family and friends closest to Ashley and Mark mourn this loss deeply even to this day. As if it couldn’t get worse, the reality of the “real world” struck months later when the hospital bills starting pouring in. Nobody likes medical bills to begin with. But to have already gone through the loss and have to somehow figure out how to pay these bills? It’s more than most of us would ever be able to handle. But Ashley and Mark know compassion and they know strength. They also know humility and this is the last thing they would want to do. But it is after all, reality. And so, we friends and family and those that may not even know them personally are gathering together to show a family love and support in one of the most tangible ways we can imagine. To ease this burden allows them to focus on what’s ahead and what’s ahead is more love and compassion for others. Thanks for considering giving to this cause.
