2019 Oakland Creates Comix and Zinefest

Oakland Creates is a mini zinefest or comics fest showcasing zines, art and comics from new and emerging artists in the East Bay Oakland area. Eventually Oakland Creates will include art business forums, workshops and community outreach promoting the intersection of education and art practice.
At the heart of Oakland Creates is the diy and indie zine spirit. Oakland Creates is a gathering of makers who want to build a community that can positively impact our neighbors, friends, family, kids and other artists. We seek to make people feel welcome, understood, represented,loved and lifted up!

Oakland Creates is funded by the artists and organizers and donations. We are looking for funding to pay for renting a venue and paying a D.I.Y. workshop leader.
