Many of you know how dear to my heart my Portuguese sister Xana is, as are her family and community. They have lost everything, their homes, livelihoods and their 36 hectares of native cork oaks, strawberry trees and a great diversity of plants and animals in a massive forest fire which has engulfed Southwest Algarve for the past 3 days .

But in true Xana style, along with the strength of her community, they are planning to re-plant the native forest and in time, their lives. If you would like to 'sponsor a tree' or support them to rebuild their community and educational projects it would mean so much.

Xana has worked for over 25 years on peace-building, community work and land regeneration projects and I would love so much to a help her rebuild all that she has worked so hard to create.
