We have spent much time weighing the benefits of a Diabetes Alert Dog with the cost and commitment.  We've spent considerable time evaluating our needs relative to the needs of so many children with type 1 diabetes.  Fundraising is a hard job; the principle, not the work.  In the midst of our reflection came a spectrum of blood sugar readings between 37 and 484, and the picture became clear.  Anything that will make Levi's life longer and healthier; anything that will improve his quality of life and enhance his feelings of security and comfortable; anything that will save him from "Dead in Bed" is what we will try.  Anything.
