This money was slated for the upcoming seasons uniforms, field usage fees, concession stand and operating costs of fielding 13 teams of both baseball and softball. This includes high school down to little rookie leaguers and t-ballers down to age 4.
So at this time, our league is behind in the count with our 2015 Spring Season. Most leagues have already had their parades, opening ceremonies and threw out the first pitch to get the festivities started, not South Orange.
We have been trying to squeeze out every penny to get our season underway. Fields, lights, uniforms, equipment, stocking up the concession stand. All of this still needs to be done, We are doing everything in our power as a "baseball family" to make sure these kids have their opening day. But things are going to be tight for some time.
Our goal is to get back what was taken from them. Per Little League rules and regulations the kids are only allowed to participate in one (1) fundraising activity per season, so the kids of South Orange are reaching out to you, the public. All parents of Little Leaguers and former Little Leaguers. Baseball fans all over. They need your help! Let's help these wonderful kids get back on the fields and show the world they can't and won't be defeated!
