I was introduced to trauma at an early age, it continued with my Desert Shield experience in Saudi Arabia to current events in my life.
About six weeks ago, I came face-to-face with the revelation that I was sexually mollested as a boy. Not two weeks later, in a counseling retreat session, I realized that I carried trauma home from my service in the Persian Gulf.
A pattern through time. It is called PTSD and while there are many meanings, it has brought a significant challenge to my life.
For the past 29 days I have been in a Inpatient Psychiatric Crisis Stabilization unit at Central DuPage Hospital. I am now spending the next 30+ days learning to deal with trauma and how to overcome it.
So the problem. I don't work, I do not earn money. And yet, I support a family. I have very gracious friends who are already doing so much but I wanted to send out this challenge.
I know that no matter the outcome, I and we will be fine and taken care of. I hope you join the journey of support through your prayer and/or dollars.
