Opperation "Wings for Cave Junction Kids"
Hello, I'm Wolf Emonds certified flight instructor. I live in a small Southern Oregon town that is under attack from a lack of activities, education, opportunities, and healthy recreation for our young people. Additionally, these resident children are surrounded in a drug and alcohol culture with meth being of epidemic proportions. Many of these kids come from families with little or no income and to say that they are "at risk" would be a grave understatement. I feel that my town suffers from a lack of imagination, passion, and belief in the concept that dreams can be made to come true with hard work and direction.
I want to give these children wings! My goal is to raise money to purchase a small airplane to be used for the education of the children. I'm going to create a flying club and provide free or ultra low cost flight instruction for local children. I believe that through the training required to earn a pilot certificate these kids will learn valuable skills and build confidence in themselves.
I don't believe they will all be come airline pilots but I do believe that these life skills will serve them for the rest of their lives. I want then to graduate high school and earn a pilot certificate!
I need to raise $50,000 to purchase an airplane. I then will donate my time, and skills to provide the training and of course insure, maintain, and hangar the aircraft.
To cover the costs of these expenses I will also use the aircraft in the course of my regular flight school business. The rental fees collected from the airplane will cover its maintenance and upkeep.
I'll ask the young people taking part in the training program to volunteer some of their after school hours to work on the airport and help with our non-profit smoke jumper museum.
Help me show these kids that dreams do come true and let's give them wings! I'll teach them that with great privileges comes great responsibilities.
