Marv was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer late in 2014. After completing his chemo and radiation treatments, he was admitted to Jefferson Hospital for the next step in his road to recovery. He endured a 10 hour surgery to remove his esophagus on February 10th. During this time, his wife Cathy was working her full time job early in the morning and then traveling into the city to spend her evenings with Marv in the ICU. His recovery was riddled with problems and he was still in the ICU a week after the surgery. However, Cathy's faith in him was tireless. She called him her Superman.
On Tuesday, February 17th, Cathy never made it to Marv's room. She passed away, as a result of a heart attack on the very floor that Marv was being cared for. She leaves behind her two children Nicholas and Elizabeth and a stepson Jonathon. Unfortunately, Cathy didnt have life insurance and the family was already burdened with paying Marv's cobra insurance.
My goal is to help raise money to allow Marv to focus on his recovery and not the mounting financial burden his illness and the death of his wife have left. Every little bit helps! Please help us let them heal.
