Vinancio Rea's Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
My name is Sophia and on Friday, Feb 20th 2015 shortly before 8 p.m. my family’s everyday life was put on hold. I received a phone call that my father Vinancio and brother Nacho along with my 11-year old daughter were in a car accident. As much as I wanted to be by everyone's side I couldn't and my dad and brother were in one hospital while my daughter was in another. As I sat by my daughter's side that night I was given updates about my brother but nothing on my dad until I received a phone call from him. He was in lots of pain, crying and saying he was sorry even though the he was not at fault and within minutes the call was over.  Luckily my daughter was only bruised and sore and later released from the hospital in the early morning hours. However my brother's hospital stay lasted a week with a broken hip, two fractures on his femur and a shattered knee. While he will have to heal and work through physical therapy he is now home.

My daddy on the other hand had a much more difficult stay with a dislocated hip and shattered pelvis. As his stay lengthened, so did his injuries developing a serious gasterol issue that caused him to constantly need to spit this horrible material up. Low oxygen levels in his blood also tore into his health all in addition to the traction he had to stay in until surgery could happen. Through all these issues and pre-surgery complications ten days later on March 3rd we eventually had to make a decision about the quality of his life if he would improve and if he got worst. It was the hardest decision any of us had to make in our lives. Our father was a strong man, an active man in nature and to loose him meant not just myself and brothers lost a father but my children lost an important father figure as well. His friends lost a hunting partner, our cousins lost their uncle and his brothers lost their sibling. As our father passed that night and our family gathered, we said our goodbyes - stood by his side and watched him pass into the next life.

As we recover from this whole emotional tragedy we have found ourselves in a situation where we are not prepared for funerary costs. I am a single parent working hard for my kids, my oldest brother is currently unemployed and making his move back home to be with family and my younger brother will still be recovering from the initial accident over the next couple of months. As we prepare final arrangements to celebrate my fathers life and history we look for help through Go Fund Me to this happen. This is new for us. We weren’t ready for any of this but ask for your support however you can.
