Help Alexandra get to college

Hi everyone, I am Alexandra Lamas and I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for even reading this.
I would like to start off by describing to you all a little about myself. I am a senior and I will soon graduate in late May from the Beverly Hills High School. During high school, I have always been motivated to succeed in my academic classes. I have been put on Honor Roll for all four years of high school and am finishing my last year with a 4.0 GPA. In the past two years, I have been taking AP(Advanced Placement) courses in both English and Psychology. From AP Psychology, I have found my true passion. I intend to become a Child Developmental Psychologist when I am older, so I have decided to major in Psychology B. A.
Besides my academic skills during the past years at Beverly, I have also contributed an immense amount of my time to community service and extracurricular activities. In the summer before freshman year, I have contributed a total amount of 16 hours for feeding the homeless at the Santa Monica Homeless Shelter, and reading to the elderly at the Beverly Hills Retirement Home. I have also spent most of my junior and senior year volunteering as an Assistant Psychologist at both Horace Mann Elementary School and Beverly Vista Elementary School. I have also been a part of clubs such as, Black Student Union, NextGenVest, and DECA. I am co-founder and President of an art therapy club called, Draw Your Thoughts. In the club we use painting, drawing, and modeling as a form of a remedial activity. My sister has a passion for Art, and I have a passion for Psychology, so together we made this club possible for those who seek to improve their self-expression.
For seven years I have been committed to Cheerleading. I started off on the Beverly Hills Tigers cheer squad in middle school, and now have been on the Beverly Hills Norman cheer squad in high school, as cheer captain. Cheerleading for me is a place where I have felt the most content and able to express my true self. Before I joined cheerleading I was shy and introverted, but throughout many performances at competitions and game days, I have come out of my shell and flourished as the person I am today.
By donating, you will get me that much closer to my dream of attending college. I want to attend the University of Miami and I am currently on the waitlist! I will find out if I get accepted in late May or early June. Although my family is very supportive, I am an independent woman who wants to find ways to cover the cost of my college tuition myself. I will be the second sibling out of six, to attend college. My motivation and hard work has pushed me so far in the 18 years of my life, but I want to continue to be challenged and prosper as a soon to be college student. One day, I want to be able to give back and ensure that the children of our future get the help they need and succeed with whatever passions or dreams they may have. So, thank you so much for all your donations, it truly means more than the world to me.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Below is a short video for you all to enjoy! I just recently sent this in to apply for a scholarship award.
