Saving Ginger

An amazing woman saw a man leaving a dog, whom we have named Ginger, on the side of the road after she had been severely hit. Unfortunately, she is not chipped and had no form of identification so she attempted to bring the dog to several different vet offices that ultimately turned her away due to finances. At this point, Ginger is unable to move and is not doing well. She started out at at VCA Kapolei and was just transported to VCA Pearl City for x-rays as they suspect a broken back. We want to make sure Ginger is afforded the same fighting chance at life that every dog deserves! Please help us in saving sweet Ginger!
UPDATE # 1: Thankfully Ginger does not have any broken bones, however she does have bruising on her lungs making it difficult to breath and she has some internal bleeding. She is currently on oxygen and being monitored at VCA Pearl City. Due to the amazing amount of people that have come together and contributed we should be able to allow her to continue to be monitored throughout the night in the hopes that her internal bleeding subsides and her breathing improves. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and we are continuing to pray that sweet Ginger will continue to improve !
UPDATE # 2: Ginger still needs to be on oxygen as she is having trouble breathing. We will receive more updates tonight but are hoping to have her brought to Aloha Affordable tomorrow morning as her vet bill at VCA Pearl City is getting very expensive very quickly. By tomorrow morning her estimate is approximately $4,000-$5,500, depending on what else she needs through the night. We will update once we know more but we want to thank everyone for your tremendous support.. we couldn’t be helping her without you!
UPDATE # 3:Ginger will most likely be spending the night at the emergency vet so she can remain on oxygen to help her breath. I was able to meet her and she is a beauty with a sweet white face. Tomorrow she will be moved to another vet office.. one who does marvelous things for the community and dogs like Ginger. Ginger’s owners were also found and, after a tough decision, they decided they couldn’t afford to care for Ginger so she will go to a foster when she is ready. We cannot thank everyone enough for spreading the word about Ginger and donating to get her the veterinary care she deserves. We will share another update soon! GO GINGER!
