I can't believe how lucky I am that I was given such a beautiful soul that is my mother. I say this because as a child my mother created a safe haven for my brother. Our home is filled with good morning songs, and random dancing parties between her and I with ballads that express her love for me. My mother has gifted me with bright days that are always filled with joy and laughter, which took my attention away from the loud banging sounds and constant wails of sirens outside my window as a child.
Although, I have always seen myself as rich, society didn't see my mother and I in the same light. In society’s eyes, we are poor, yet we are rich with things that others cannot even fathom. Now that I’m older, I have watched my mother struggle to make sure my brother and I had everything we ever wanted. With my mother's help, I'm able to peruse my love of music, playing the cello every day. I hope I will be able to incorporate the cello with my medical field of neurology and help those in need with music. And with track and field help others in any possible way I can.My mother in my eyes is a superhero because even now I still don't know how she made half the things happen for us. However, my hero finally faced her kryptonite.
In 2015 my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. I watched my hero become gaunt and feeble from this disease. Although this kept her from working, my mother never let her illness prevent her from smiling and helping her family any way that she could. This includes now after I’ve been accepted to Dillard, LSU, University of New Orleans, and accepted to the pre-med program at Xavier University. All these schools are out in New Orleans a place that is filled with history and my mysterious family history that I want to solve. But after everything she has been through, I do not want to ask my mother for more help. And so I’m asking everyone and anyone, please help me go to college. Anything will help tremendously. Thank you so much!
