Our dear friend Lisa Frank - Frankie - was in a very serious car accident on August 29, 2019.
She was driving home on Highway 101 headed near Novato when a commercial van slammed into her from behind at a high speed, forcing her into the car in front of her. She was hospitalized with shattered and fractured vertebrae, which may require surgery; 9 broken ribs; a broken fibula; a concussion and a lacerated skull that required 8 staples. She's lucky to be alive, but she has a long recovery ahead of her.
Lisa won’t be able to return to work for at least 6 months, although no one knows for sure. In the meantime, her expenses are mounting. This week she will be discharged from the hospital to a rehab facility that costs $6,000 per month. Other medical costs, rent and transportation to doctors appointments (which must be done by ambulance with a stretcher until Lisa can sit in wheelchair) could be up to $4,000 per month. Based on this, we've increased our goal to $60,000 to cover Lisa's costs for 6 months.
Lisa is fiercely independent and would never ask for help directly, which is why we her friends are asking for your help on her behalf. We hope that you will be able join us in making a financial donation that will go towards supporting Frankie.
