The Golden State Road Warriors are the official wheelchair basketball team of the Golden State Warriors and a nonprofit organization in the Northern California Bay Area. The team provides individuals with a physical disability the opportunity to compete in and learn wheelchair basketball. The team competes at the highest level in the United States as part of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA). The team currently has 16 members, coached by head coach Paul Jackson and assisted by Tony Lai.

We have started the 2022/23 season with a record of 4-0, but there is still a long way to go in reaching our goal to get through this season and win the 2023 National Championship. With one home tournament hosted annually, the Duncan Memorial Tournament held December 3-4, 2022, at San Jose State University, the team travels around the country to complete throughout their season. Your support will help with the needed equipment, travel expenses for the remaining season tournaments and expenses related to travel and entry at the National Tournament in Wichita, KS in April 2023. The team operates each season by supporting sponsorships, fundraising and kind donations.

The Road Warriors have given disabled athletes the opportunity to play competitive wheelchair basketball for over 40 years, along with having several players representing the United States on US National teams. Our success has been measured on and off the court. Along with providing athletes with the joy and love of competitive sports, and being available for all to learn the game, we’re also actively involved in many Bay Area communities year around. We visit schools, youth groups, companies, and hospitals among other organizations, speaking and leading interactive events. We’re also in these communities sharing our experiences and educating on overcoming adversities, the positive impact adaptive sports can have for a person with a disability, and just handling challenges in anyone’s life - disabled or not.
