Hope and Healing: Fibroid Procedure Fund

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

For the past few years, I’ve been living with a large fibroid - a benign fibrous lump in my uterus. It’s started to cause me discomfort at the beginning of this year and an MRI scan showed it to be the size of a grapefruit. It’s causing severe pressure on my kidneys and bladder, along with a range of other uncomfortable and worrying symptoms that have made daily life increasingly difficult.

This isn’t just discomfort. It’s become a serious health concern. Despite my best efforts to manage the symptoms, the fibroid has made daily life more challenging, affecting my energy levels, mobility, and overall well-being. While I’ve managed to keep working through this, I’m very conscious that even the slightest discomfort I experience as a result of the fibroid may be reflected in the quality of the images and this has really affected my confidence and mental health.

Unfortunately, the NHS waiting list for treatment is currently 12 months long. While I deeply value the NHS and the care it provides, waiting that long is simply not an option for me. The pressure on my kidneys could lead to further complications, and I’m desperate to find relief and protect my long-term health so after much consideration, I’ve decided to seek private treatment to address this issue as soon as possible. This is not a decision I’ve taken lightly, but I believe it’s the best course of action for my health and quality of life.

The cost of the procedure, consultations, and follow-up care is significant, and while I really hate to do this, I’d like to ask for your help to make this possible. Your support, no matter the size, will go directly toward the treatment that could finally bring me relief and prevent further complications.
