Support Monty's Fight Against Cancer

Please join me in helping our good friend and Canine Connection teammate, Anna, as she helps Monty overcome his cancer. Anna has a heart of gold and has helped so many animals and people who love them, and now it's her own sweet senior dog who needs support. Monty is one of those dogs who waited his whole life to find someone who loves and understands him. Join with me in helping Monty get well and have more time with Anna and Ray, Monty's loving family.

Monty is an energetic and gentle boy at 14 years old, and he was recently diagnosed with malignant melanoma and is facing a mountain of oncoming medical tests and treatments.

Anna and  Ray took Monty in two years ago to care for him in his older years. He had been stuck in the shelter system after multiple abandons due to behavior issues. Anna and Ray brought him home, and now he is living his best life with his human friends, cat relatives, dog brothers and sheep and chicken pals. He loves playing ball and eating treats and watermelon. He loves to socialize, and his paws look like chocolate chip cookies!

After getting to know and trust his new home, and with his needs and boundaries being met, he is a happy clam and no longer shows any aggression. We love him so much and want him to have the best chance at living out the rest of his days with Anna and Ray!

Since Monty's recent diagnosis of a malignant melanoma, he has begun undergoing further imaging and testing and a first round of treatment to find out the extent of his illness and begin treating it. He has also had surgery. Unfortunately at this point further treatments are needed.

Anna, and Ray have taken in many rescue animals - dogs, cats, chickens, sheep - that would otherwise be put down or slaughtered. They have funded all care for these animals themselves, but Monty’s care is going to require more funds than they can manage on their own, so I am humbly asking for help in supporting Monty's care!

Anna and Ray have already put over $8000 toward Monty's testing and treatment, but this is just the beginning, and there are many more costs to come that will cost at minimum another $12000. All of these treatments are necessary and the only path toward giving Monty the best chance at a happy, longer life!

Monty has already had surgery, done  imaging and testing, and completed immunotherapy. We now need to move on to radiation and sequencing.

Monty deserves the world, and anything you are able to contribute will go directly to his care!
