Help my mom and I pay bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name's Alana. I decided to start a GoFundMe because my mom is over $14,000 in debt and currently in the middle of a divorce. She has no job which means no income to pay for any bills. She just lost her divorce lawyer this morning because she couldn't pay the $6,000 they wanted right then and there. She's unable to afford car insurance which is $600 a month for the both of us. She totaled her last car in November last year (see image below), which has probably made that more expensive.
Her current car's payments are $400 a month and she's wondering how she'll even be able to afford that, something that seems so little. Yeesh, it's hard to have anything in this economy.
You might ask, "well, why doesn't she just get a job?" I wonder the same thing sometimes, but then I remember that she has countless physical and mental health issues. My dad physically assaulted her last June which sparked the beginning of their divorce and only worsened her already poor health. I worked a basically-minimum-wage job from September 2022 to April 2023 and I quit due to the stress and low pay. I felt like I had to work because of how tight money has been, especially with my mom being unemployed. I'm thinking of getting another, better (both in pay and interest) job once I graduate high school in June of this year. I think that I'll have less to worry about once I get out of school and will be able to keep a more consistent work schedule before I end up going to college. We have no family or friends to turn to for help, so this is our last resort. Any donation whatsoever would be incredibly appreciated and I would personally thank you to the ends of the earth.
We also have a bunch of pets that we’re unable to take care of, both money-wise and health-wise. We have 7 cats, a rabbit, fish, and a gecko. Whew, believe me, that’s a lot to take care of.
Also, we're probably going to end up homeless sooner or later whenever my dad is allowed to take the house back (my mom's name isn't on the deed). So we're gonna need money for that too, but rent is insanely high where I live, as it is almost anywhere. My dad hasn't given us any money for child support or alimony since this whole thing started despite him bragging to me about making 6 figure a year. Well, my mom made about $15,000 last year. That's not enough to support even just one person. So when I say anything helps, I really mean it.
Also also, I'm planning on going to Everett Community College for Computer Science in this coming fall, and I'm not sure if the FAFSA will cover all of it. It might since my mom made so little in the past.
Thank you for reading this.
