Hello all,
They had found an opening on Narce’s esophagus that led her liquids and foods to her lungs. They had admitted her in the Ascension Seton (University of Texas) where they placed a stent to close the opening.. later on that month she got worse and her body was rejecting anything she drank or ate. Once they tried to remove the stent she had stopped breathing and was on a breathing tube. Since the hospital didn’t have thorastic surgeons in Austin, they decided it was best to transfer her over to a facility in Dallas. After multiple failed attempts to close the opening the doctor decided it was best to remove a part of her esophagus due to the scaring and damage she had in her esophagus. Narce left the hospital with a Spit fistula which is an opening on the side of her neck that allows spit to accumulate in a changeable bag that she changed every other day (Ostomy bag). She also left the hospital with a GJ feeding tube. After getting discharged on June/2024 the day has arrived to see if they are able to reconstruct her esophagus by using a part of her colon and arm to see if she’s able to eat like a normal person usually would. Due to this Esophageal reconstruction, Narce is currently in the ICU in critical condition. She got opened up from her throat to chest bone and down her stomach, has a traque collar and drains on her neck. We’re asking for any words of encouragement, shares, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Narce is a mother, wife, friend and daughter. For any of those who know her she has a very big heart. She prioritizes her 3 year old son who needs from her.

Encontraron una abertura en el esófago de Narce que conducía sus líquidos y alimentos a sus pulmones. La internaron en Ascension Seton (Universidad de Texas), donde le colocaron un stent para cerrar la abertura. Ese mes, empeoró y su cuerpo rechazaba todo lo que bebía o comía. Intentaron quitarle el stent, pero dejó de respirar y estaba con un tubo de respiración. Como el hospital no tenía cirujanos torácicos en Austin, decidieron que lo mejor era trasladarla a un hospital en Dallas. Después de varios intentos de cerrar la abertura, el doctor decidió que lo mejor era quitarle una parte del esófago debido a la cicatrización y el daño que tenía en el esófago. Narce salió del hospital con una fístula de saliva, que es una abertura en el lado del cuello que permite que la saliva se acumule en una bolsa intercambiable que se cambiaba cada dos días (bolsa de ostomía). También salió del hospital con una sonda de alimentación. A llegado el día de ver si pueden reconstruir su esófago usando una parte de su colon y su brazo para ver si puede comer como lo haría una persona normal. Debido a esta reconstrucción esofágica, Narce se encuentra actualmente en el ICU en estado crítico. Le abrieron el esófago desde la garganta hasta el esternón y el estómago, tiene un collarín traqueal y drenajes en el cuello. Pedimos palabras de aliento, apoyó y oraciones durante este momento difícil. Narce es madre, esposa, amiga e hija. Para cualquiera de los que la conocen, tiene un gran corazón. Prioriza a su hijo de 3 años que necesita de ella. Gracias.
