Jd’s Medical Expenses

Donation protected
A message from my sister: “Family and Friends I know these are some hard times for everyone during this pandemic. On top of all the craziness on May 21st, 2020 our lives were turned upside down JD's testicular cancer from 2005 came back in the form of a Yolk Sac Tumor. This time has been different, 1st chemo round began 05/21/2020, he received 5 days of chemo in the hospital. Followed by 3 more chemo rounds that were supposed to take all the cancer away. On 09/04/2020 expecting to hear the cancer was gone, the Dr told us that the cancer numbers didn't go down as much as they hoped. His PET scan showed that there is still Cancer present in the tumor and other parts of the abdomen. JD was then referred out to a Genitourinary Oncologist in Houston at MD Anderson. In Houston he has received more chemo and stronger meds. The medicines always come with side effects. On 10/14/2020 a toxicity screening was done in the form of labs. This showed that his white/red cells were extremely low. He was sent for a blood transfusion in San Antonio on 10/15/20. During the transfusion we received a call that his kidney levels were high and that he needed to be admitted before possible kidney failure. We drove to Houston and were immediately admitted and are now here meeting with Nephrologist, cardiologist, Oncologist, pulmonologist, and endocrinologist. The Dr's have told us that he is not doing well at all. We just found out that from his labs this morning the kidney function has not improved and they will be prepping him for Dialysis. The right lung is completely covered either by tumor or with fluid and may have to be drained waiting for another ultrasound. Risk with that are that his left lung get tired and give up resulting in a ventilation. Bringing up a conversation we have never had of life support if the time comes worse case scenario. Extremely hard conversation to have. Still a lot of testing and the doctors working together to decide whats next. Those of you that know JD or have seen him during this can see that physically he is not himself. He is on oxygen and relies on a wheel chair to get around. Important to his care our family is staying in Houston so that we are nearby. As much as we'd like to ignore all our hospital bills, Dr bills, housing expenses as well as our normal bills they do not go away and are just piling up.” We are asking for donations any amount is appreciated; more than anything we are needing prayers. We need God and know that he is control. We have faith that he will give JD the strength he needs to get through this. We have been receiving tons of support from family and friends both old and new & we thank y’all. We also have these if y’all feel more comfortable donating there.
