Synopsis for those that want the short version:

As of 10/22/2025

*baby and mom are doing great right now.
*severe bleeding way too early for baby and mom: Nyx (prev Nia)
*bleeding is controlled, will spend another one week minimum in Swedish Hospital
*missed work
*possible medium to long-term stay in Seattle for foreseeable future

Nyx (prev Nia) had some fairly severe vaginal bleeding on Sunday evening (October 19th). She and Riley headed to the hospital. Jefferson kept her overnight. Baby was only at 23 weeks and 3 days, and the bleeding had increased, so they decided to Airlift Northwest her to Swedish Hospital in Seattle on Monday (October 20th). She and I got to take a ride in a helicopter!

Riley (Nyx' Fiance, baby Bradley's Dad) was able to pack a bag and arrived at Swedish shortly after.

The bleeding persisted throughout the night. Many hard conversations were had, and not much sleep was gotten, but babies heart rate remained strong throughout the whole thing.

As of this morning (October 22nd) the bleeding has slowed tremendously. Baby and mom are still strong, and vitals are good.
Some sleep was much appreciated by all last night.

This is where our blessing of a community comes in:

As per the doctor this morning (October 22nd) they are keeping Nyx and baby in the hospital for another week minimum. After that, they would like her to stay on the Seattle side of the water for at least the next two weeks (maybe longer).

All of us that live on the peninsula understand that we “live on an island” and that, although it is very beautiful out there, our medical resources are somewhat limited, especially when it comes to any emergency interventions that could be needed for baby and mom.

As of right now we are looking for financial contributions to offset the cost of this young family missing out on work and balancing more future medical bills. Bills always persist, no matter what we are going through, and although Nyx is fed by the hospital Riley has to cover his own food costs, which can get expensive.

The doctor just said that Nyx should not be going back to work in a position where she is on her feet.

We are also reaching out to our community in the Seattle area for any resources available to us for a comfortable living arrangement for the next few weeks. Everything is up in the air right now, but it is a possibility Riley(FOB) and I(Nyx' mom) could switch out so that Nyx isn’t alone on this side of the water and he and I can both still work.

In the past, when I have advocated for others, the whole world has opened and wonderful things have come from it❤️
It is now my time to advocate for my family, and I have every faith that beautiful things will be provided for us

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions, resources, or ideas please direct message, call or text me.

Very sincerely and with kindness,

Julie Fischer (Mother of Nyx and soon, hopefully not too soon, to be grandma of Baby).

Also: Please feel free to share this as much as you’re comfortable with. I am not on social media platforms that much so I feel the more it is shared the more of our friends and extended family will see it (that darn algorithm).

Thank you all and much love to you and your families.
